After changing your password the printer will stop working.
The next time, that you try to print, you will be presented with a similar dialog box to this one.
Your “Username” is typed as specified:
DEPARTMENT: is your department
STUDENTS: student.aau.dk etc.
USER: is the part of your e-mail before @
E-MAIL: is Susanne@ifm.aau.dk
USER: is susanne
If the dialog box above, does not appear, you will need to delete the printer and then add the printer once again, as follows:
Launch the printer setup by clicking the Ubuntu icon
Type the word “Printers” in the search line
Click on the “Printers” icon
Choose the printer, you wish to reconnect.
Write down the name of the printer.
Right click on it and choose the “delete” option.
Go to http://www.printcopy.aau.dk/ and follow the guide provided, to setup the printer again.
After changing your password you will no longer have access to the files in the fileshare, and you will have to map the network drive once again.
Mounting a network drive can be done using the command line:
sudo mount.cifs //SERVER/SHARE MOUNTPOINT -o setuids,user=USERNAME,dom=DEPARTMENT,pass=PASSWORD
- user: your username is the part of your e-mail before @.
- password: password corresponding to the username.
- dom: this is roughly equivalent to your department(plan, hst etc.), while students should use student
- mountpoint: a path that will be used as the access point in your file system.
- server: the server you need to access. This should be either aau.dk or DEPARTMENT.aau.dk.
Replace DEPARTMENT with the name of the department you want to access (hst, student, plan etc.)
- share: the folder you wish to mount.
Running the command requires the cifs-utils (Ubuntu) package, or cifs-mount (Fedora).
After changing your password the e-mail connection will stop working.
When your e-mail program tries to read your AAU-mail, you will be presented with a dialog box where you will need to type in your new password and then press the [OK] button.
Afterwards, your e-mail will work again.
After changing your password the Wi-Fi/wireless connection will stop working.
You will be presented with this error notification.
In order to reconnect the Wi-Fi connection click on the network icon in the upper right corner of the screen.
and choose the”Edit Connections...” option.
Click on the network that you wish to reconnect to
Eg. Usually AAU-1x
Click on the [Edit...] button.
If you use Eduroam, you will also need to do this to reactivate the connection again.
In the next window, click on the [Wi-Fi security] Tab.
You will now be able to type in your new password
Click on the [SAVE..] button to finish.
You will be presented with this dialog box,
And you will need to click on the [IGNORE] button.
You should now be connected to the wireless network again.
